Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Rendr collects, why it collects it, and how the app handles the data you create inside it. Rendr is published by Nova Consulting for balcony inspection professionals.

1. Who we are

“Rendr” (the “App”) is a mobile balcony inspection app published by Nova Consulting (“we”, “us”, “our”), operating under the domain novadigitaldesign.com. The App runs on iOS and Android devices owned by the inspector. The iOS bundle identifier is com.novaconsulting.balconytemp7.

2. Data the App collects

Data you create inside the app.

When you perform an inspection, you enter structured text (addresses, row notes, measurements) and capture photos. This inspection data is stored locally on your device in the app’s sandboxed storage. It is not transmitted to Nova Consulting, to any analytics provider, or to any third party, except at the moments you explicitly tap one of the Export buttons.

Data we do not collect.

• No analytics or telemetry SDKs are embedded. We do not track taps, screen views, crashes, device identifiers, IP addresses, or location.
• No advertising identifiers are read. The App shows no ads.
• No account is created on our servers. Nova Consulting does not operate a backend that stores inspection data.

3. Camera and photo library

Rendr requests the following device permissions. Each is used only in direct response to a user action inside the App.

• Camera — used when you tap a capture button to photograph balcony conditions in the field. Photos are written into the App’s local storage and attached to the specific inspection row you were editing.
• Photo library (read) — used when you tap “Pick from Library” so that an existing photo can be attached to an inspection row. Only the photos you explicitly select are read; the App never scans or uploads your library in the background.
• Photo library (add) — used when you tap Export to save a ZIP bundle of the inspection photos back into your photo library for hand-off.

4. Google account data (Sheets and Drive exports)

Rendr’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Scopes requested.

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets — lets Rendr create a Google Sheet per inspection and read and write the inspection data in it (one tab per inspection component) as you fill out and later resume a report.
• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive — lets Rendr create a Drive folder per inspection and upload your inspection photos into it, and read file metadata to confirm uploads and avoid duplicates. Rendr requests this broader Drive scope (rather than the file-scoped drive.file) only to support two-inspector collaboration: a second inspector’s device must read and write the shared inspection folder and spreadsheet created by the first inspector’s device in the same session, which drive.file cannot do. Although this scope can technically reach other Drive files, Rendr accesses only the inspection folders and spreadsheets created through its own Export, AutoSync, and Import actions and never scans, lists, or indexes the rest of your Drive.

What we do with the Google tokens.

• OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored locally on your device in sandboxed app storage so repeat exports do not require you to sign in every time.
• Tokens are never sent to Nova Consulting or any third party. All Google API calls go directly from your device to Google.
• You can clear the stored tokens at any time by using the “Clear All Data” action inside the app’s Settings screen, by revoking access at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by uninstalling the app.

What we create in your Drive.

• A new Google Sheet per inspection, when you tap “Export to Google Sheets”.
• A new folder per inspection containing re-encoded JPEG photos, when you tap “Export Photos to Google Drive”.

Rendr limits itself to the inspection folders and spreadsheets it creates (and, during collaboration, the shared inspection files your paired inspector created in the same session). It does not read, list, or modify anything else in your Drive, and performs no background scanning or indexing of your files.

5. Data sharing

Nova Consulting does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. The only data transfer that happens is between your device and Google, when you explicitly tap Export. You control who receives the resulting Sheet or folder via Google Drive’s built-in sharing controls.

6. Data retention

Inspection data, photos, and Google OAuth tokens are retained on your device for as long as you keep the app installed or until you explicitly clear them. Uninstalling Rendr removes all locally stored data, including tokens.

7. Children

Rendr is a professional inspection tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we materially change how the App handles data, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
